CAG0072 CALIBRE Drill Sharpener

Feature:
  • 100 grit grinding stone quickly and easily sharpens drill bits from 5/64” to 1/2”(2.0 to 12.5mm)
  • Requires a power drill operating between 2,000 and 3,500 RPM
Instructions:
  • Secure the drill in a bench vise for easy operation and stability.
  • Place the drill bit in the appropriate drill guide, based on drill bit diameter.
  • Do not begin sharpening until the drill has been running at full RPM (between 2,000 and 3,500RPM max) for at least 2 seconds.
  • Ensure the drill bit is parallel to the grinding stone and held firmly in place with your thumb (be sure to wear gloves )close to the surface of the grinding stone.
Drill Guide Sizes:
  • 5/64” to 7/32” (2.0 to 5.0mm)
  • 7/32” to 10/32” (5.0 to 8.0mm)
  • 10/32” to 1/2” (8.0 to 12.5mm)
Application:
  • Keeping the drill bit square, push the drill bit towards the grinding stone steadily.
  • Do not use excessive force as it will create a rounded cutting edge on the drill bit.
  • Do not sharpen the bit for more than 5 seconds – it will cause excessive heating and may damage or melt the nylon drill bit guide.
  • Cool the drill bit in water for 5 minutes between sharpening.
  • Repeat the procedure for each cutting edge (typically 2 edges per drill bit).
  • For very dull drill bits, repeat the process several times for the best result.
  • Lubricate the input shaft after use.
